Can't install Windows on netbook! Help!

Thread Starter
I recently purchased an acer aspire one netbook for school, it has come with ubuntu 10.10, and while I appreciate the value of ubuntu it is simply not for me. I do not own a usb-cd drive so I have opted to boot off of a flash drive and install from there.

I tried using unetbootin with both a Windows 7 and WIndows Xp .iso and neither have worked (all that happens is the machine boots from the flash drive into unetbootin but it shows nothing but "Default" and loops endlessly.

Are there any other methods to getting a new os on this bad boy? Lastly, do you think WIndows 7 or Xp would be better for this bad boy? ( Intel Atom 1.6ghz, 1gb ram etc)

Or, should I slap in my vertex 120gb? Do these mobo's even suppot AHCI for trim?

Thanks for your time guys!

My netbook has an n270 and it does support trim and AHCI. I have 2gb's of ram in it and it runs windows 7 pro really well. I have zero complaints with it. Its sad when my netbook runs faster and more reliable than most of the peoples computers I work on.

I used this(or one like it) guide when I put windows 7 on my netbook. I remember going into cmd and doing something with bootsec, then dragging all the files over, but thats all I remember. It took all of like 10 mins to do. I have not tried to mess with those programs that can make bootable disks though. I think ultraISO has a feature to make a bootable flash drive from an iso image(or something like that).

Unetbootin is designed for Linux only.
