With a Sandy Bridge a H70 will work fine. They overclock very well.

I have the H70 and a 2600k. Very impressive combination. Given the cpu's low thermal output, I've had no difficulty running at 4.7ghz with HT on, temps in mid 60's under prime.

tis 21c in my room
Idle temps 35c (waited an hour before, load was 23c)
Max I have seen is 55c

I have been prim95 for over an hour and temps have not gone over 55c.
I have also run IBT and it didn't get it over 55c either

when I had the H50 it would reach 85c after 2 hours... I am sure this block will never let it get to 85c.

It also drops my temps down VErY quickly, turn off folding, IBT, Prim95 and the temps drop down to 30s in a snap, down where my H50 couldn't dream.

so yes I got the "10c" temp reduction and then some... plus this block only cost me $20 shipped for my already owned loop

I could also add that I got that ugly block, radiator and tubes removed from my system.

You are comparing it to a different chip. The 920 and 2600k are quite different.

Why can't you overclock a 2600k to 6ghz? You can't get the voltage.

EVEN MORE!!! The base clock is low, around 100mhz. Even if power wasn't an issue, the farthest you could go is 5.7ghz because of the 57x max multiplier. It is hard to raise the base clock on the Sandy Bridge. Iv read you can get about 108-110 mhz max. Raising the base clock is pretty much non-existant.

Do more research if you want. Really though, a big and expensive liquid cooling system is a waste for this. Even if you plan on putting a graphics card on a loop, to get any use out of the cooling power, you would need to do a voltage mod.

Be practical. Stick with the H70. Heck, good air coolers can get 5ghz with the 2600k.

Since I'll probably won't buy till November, I'll be going with the ivy chips...
