Sli cards must be the same. Even a 9400 and 9800 are different.

K thanks, but i read up online at a bunch of different comparisons of the two cards and the 9800 is more than double the performance of the 9400 so getting two will still be less powerful than the one 9800... I will save for the 9800 for now and my uncle has tons of ram so i will see if he has any to spare for me... Thanks for the help/advice everyone!

bad company 2 really relies on 4 cores to get the best performance, you might want to look into getting a athlon II X4, it would almost double your fps. you can usually find an oem one for like 70, or maybe even a used one for cheaper. That with a 9800GT or something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-067-_-Product would be ideal at that resolution.

i wouldn't say that an athlon II X4 is essential, but it would almost double your frame rates, or allow you to go to higher settings.

A 9800 GT WILL need a 6-pin.

Listen, don't think your RAM is at fault. I might be running 4 GB now, but I only had 2 GB in my rig from 2008-end of 2010 (yes, 2 GB RAM in a gamer rig with a decently OC'ed C2D and first an 8800 GT for 2 years and then my current card since May 2010). I promise you that your RAM is not the bottleneck. 2 GB will easily be enough for a mid-end PC, both for XP and 7.

This is true, but if you can OC the CPU to around 3-3.5 GHz, then you should be good to go. It will bottleneck the 9800 GT at those speeds, but you should be able to live with that.

I'm surprised you can navigate BC2's menu. Let alone run the game.

physically impossible to increase fps with your system without putting all settings to thier absolute minimum..even then your asking alot.

unfortunately your only choices are either to upgrade your components or not play these newer games that your system cannot keep up with.

I have a dual core and my gameplay is mostly smooth.

@OP: It won't double your FPS or anything, but OC that CPU further and run the game at lowest details 1024x768
