Nice parts you have there, I know it is your first time.. but that case is very nice If you do a few more builds using crappier cases, you will soon see why.

How is the MicroCenter in IL? When I go home in the summers, I'll be using that MC. Luckily theres one pretty close to school out here--and seeing as I have to pay tax anyways at the egg/mwave/most places (yay cali), I just prefer getting my stuff today rather than in a few days as well.

Don't feel bad about the case--you had them recheck everything and were an honest consumer. If anything, that was karma repaying you already--you'll be fine. You bought that warranty anyways which is just milk for MC, because if your parts break within 30 days they have to exchange them anyways (warranty or not), and if they don't break in 30, they probably won't break and you'll sell the rig before that happens.

Only tip I can say is: enjoy that blizzard, heard from family that you guys will get hit really hard tomorrow and remember to have good cable management and enjoy!

There is actually 2 of them. I went to the one out of the city though because the taxes in the city were like 3% more. Something like that. It was actually really nice other than the rude ass people in that area. I knew I was out of place when I saw mercedes, porsche, bmw, lamborghini dealer ships all in a line right before I got there. The other customers were by far the most rude people I have ever came in contact with. My sales guy would be in the middle of talking to me and helping me get everything and like 5 times random aholes would walk up cut him off and be like excuse me I need help. It was like are you serious???? I wanted to back hand them.

But I mean alot of the prices were better than new egg. The i7 950 is only 200.00 there. The 800D was like 239.00. The one thing they do lack in is memory. They have corsair / generic / OCZ and that is about it.

Yea the weather is full of suck right now and its not even that bad lol. The drifts are the bad part the wind is crazy!!!!

AHAHAHAHAHHAHA @ the IKEA commercial.

I find those same people in BMW, Lexus, Mercedes to be the rudest drivers on the road as well. Go figure.

Yeah I am more down in the south suburbs. Weather is nasty, hope the internet stays with me.

Thats cool you are going to let him know about it and what not.
Still have yet to make it into a MC out here. Not going until I have a few hundred to burn up while I'm in there. Pretty sure would not be able to make it out of there without buying something.

nice man. and if you feel bad, just remember you saw him scan it twice. maybe it was microcenters system fault, not the cashiers. But if not, hopefully karma doesn't come around.

So I got it all put together and everything fired up =) I am completly new to bios but I played around with it for a few minutes. Is it normal for your CPU and memory to show the lowest possible settings when you first get a computer up and going? My mem was on auto at like 1033 or something and my cpu was saying it was like 2.2ghz

But the H70 is working nicely. "I think?" showed 22-25.

And my god I have a rats nest to go through =( Half the **** from the PSU wouldnt reach where it was supposed to using the cable management. I think i need extenders.

Yeah that is normal.
Your going to have to go into BIOS, and manually set your timings.
The lower clock speed is from Intel power saving options in BIOS as well.

Nice to see you did not have to go back to MC, and whip out that receipt.

Awesome! lol yea that would have been akward. I mean it was pretty dummy proof putting everything together just took some time to read. But the cable management I did... my god is it awful. I swear half my psu cables just refused to reach using the system on the 800D. I would be like 2 inches short.

no offense but that's kind of a ripoff, you should have just picked up the $200 i7 950 and bought the rest online, lol @ $200 for microcenter warranty
