Title pretty much says it all

Have to cannibalize my POS ikea desk to make it fit now though haha.

Will just be using it at 5760x1080, mostly for WoW currently but portal 2 and TES:V when they come out as well. Should my 1gb 5850 be good enough to drive this or will I need more firepower?

If more firepower, 2gb 6950 or a 2nd 5850? Or wait for 7000 series?

Should get here friday, more pics then

just ordered 2 more of the same i currently have, dont wanna sell/shell out for 3 new ones

WHEN you need more firepower, 2gb is definitely the way to go.

BUT, you should experiment with your 5850 first.

Single 5850 will be a no go for gaming.Grab another 5850 if your looking for a cheap way out.
Another 5850? NO!

That won't have enoug hVRAM. Even 1920x1200 would approach 1gb in some games.

It won't be enough for anything at 5760x1080

2gb or bust

Wrong DE-Zant.

Have you owned that set up?

2 5850 will run most games fine at 5760x1080.

Peps luv to talk out there a-holes.

Basically you CAN run that setup, but it will suffer quite badly in some games.

No I haven't owned that setup, but I have seen vram usage statistics. On 5760x1080, 1gb cards often suffer because they hit the vram limit. That does't mean that it wouldn't be playable though

Just saying that 2gb would be a more worthwhile upgrade. Might be able to turn up some AA in games.

Plenty of people out there are running eyefinity setups, at that res, without 2GB of VRAM, and are doing just fine.
Game devs are VERY reluctant about pushing for higher tech requirements in games, albeit certain European devs and John Carmack excepting. This is directly due to console pushing more units than PCs.
Even Crytek has dropped the requirements for their games, based upon the fact that less requirements mean more potential buyers.
Yes, we will still have people making games like Metro 2330 and so forth, but they will always be the exception rather than the rule. The only game I know of that makes use of more than 1GB of VRAM, right now, is GTA4 which is a poorly coded example of how not to port a game.
