Handy review of 1GB vs. 2GB GTX460...in many games...at 16:9 and Eyefinity wesolutions:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...eatured_Review
I read the review, and noticed that, past the neat bar graphics, the difference in going from 1-2GB in those resolutions was generally around 3-5 frames per second. Considering the cost involved, the performance increase was fairly negligible. There were exceptions with 4xMSAA, but I guess it's up to the OP as to whether he wants to spend any amount of money for that little of a performance increase.
And those numbers are a bit suspect, as Dirt2 with 1GB of VRAM on a 5870 gets 47fps average on this review;http://techgage.com/article/atis_eye..._6_displays/11, and GTX460 1GB gets 32fps on the review you posted. In fact in the above review, dual 5870's, still limited by 1GB of VRAM, get the same or higher frames as the 2GB GTX, which implies to me that more than 1GB of VRAM can help, it's certainly not a deciding factor when using a crossfire config.

lol ok well I'm ganna give it a run with the single 5850. It that doesnt cut it then I'll just stick to WoW (which i assume a single 5850 and a 2500k can run fine at that res) until the 7000 series comes. Feel like skipping the 6000s if the next series comes out in april... (ATI/AMD SLOW DOWN PLZ...)

monitors should be here tomorrow, updated OP with link to monitors

thanks, i've had one for about 9 months now, its fantastic... bezel might be a bit bigger than the "slim" eyefinity ones but good enough for me lol

You will be just fine with a single 5850 for Wow and portal TF2 and stuff like that.

I run my setup with a single 5970 atm which is 2x 5870 and 5850 is the same as 5870 if overclocked a lil bit... so if you get 1 more you are good to go

I would go nVidia for Eyefinity tho.... best scaling ever.

eh?

And thanks I was really hoping that was the case. Don't mind shellin out for the extra 2 monitors but am still reluctant to buy a last gen (even though hella powerful) card when the new series should be out in april from what i've read

Updated OP with pics!!

Anyone know how to get Unigine Heaven to actually run at 5760x1080? It sets the resolution correctly but when I hit run and it actually gets in its just 3 1080p monitors lol

Very nice, the larger bezels aren't that bad. My P2750's have huge bezels
