How to fix crossfire studder?

Thread Starter
ok well most games I play that take use of my second 4890 studder like crap unless fps is higher than 100. This makes it hard to aim in games such as cod 4 because of studder at 80 fps mad.gif The only fix i have ever heard of is new drivers and vsync. since 8.12 drivers up to now, the studder in 4890 crossfire is still not fixed and playing a fps game with vsync is impossible due to "mouse lag" How can I fix this without vsync?

id download driversweeper, and use that
uninstall the ati CCC and then restart your computer in safe mode, run driver cleaner and select to remove all ATI drivers, then reinstall ati CCC. that will make sure that there is no conflicting drivers.
Finally Finished!

Try turning off Catalyst A.I.

That does the trick for me with games like F1 2010 and Dirt 2

Lmao if you disable catalyst AI, you also disable multi-gpu and only make use of a single card

Now that's one way to fix the so-called stutter problem. applaud.gif

I have alot of experience with DUAL gpu setups. Stuttering from crossfire can't be fixed, it's game dependent. turn multi GPU off in cod4, you don't need it.

For example, on my old 5970, i had perfect BC2/crysis, and stuttery source engine/cod4/mw2

Thankfully, most of the time, in the games it stutters in, you don't need crossfire at all.

You can try reinstalling drivers if you want. or installing some profiles.
