Questions about possible setup?

Currently I have a mcp655, gt stealth 240 x-flow, ek dual spin res., and apogee xt extreme, with all the tubing and misc stuff. I was going to put it in my thermaltake Xsaser VI case. But now I'm thinking of get Haf X case powder coated white along with a vga block, and possibly nb,sb,mosfet blocks eventually. My thinking was to get a 360 rad and set something like ( res, pump, 240 rad, CPU, VGA ,360 rad, nb,sb,mosfit, res).
Could change the rad order if needed, but would that setup be fine? Or would it be way to restricted. If I just added the VGA would I still need to add another rad. or would the 240 be ok? I wanna order everything in one swoop!

yea that sounds fine, except for two things, you should have your VGA last in the loop as its the hottest part of your computer and it is the part that can handle the most heat. also your set up of Res -> pump ->240 rad -> CPU -> VGA -> 360 rad -> NB -> SB ->Mosfets ->Res would be far better if you had it set up like this Res -> Pump -> CPU -> Mosfets -> NB -> VGA -> 360 rad -> 240 rad -> Res

this is for a few reasons, firstly having a radiator before the cpu drops the performance by a lot, i did this and suffered bad temps, then after putting the radiator after the CPU it dropped 15*C. the other thing is you may have noticed is that i removed the SB from the loop. unless your getting a full board waterblock watercooling the southbridge has no real point. infact if you look at full cover motherboard blocks the water channels dont extend down to the southbridge at all, and its just a thick slab of metal. the reason for this is because the southbridge doesnt really do much as compared to the northbridge and is a far less sensitive part to heat, the southbridge could easily handle 80*C without any risk of failing.

Awesome thanks for the tips. Didn't know about the vga. This will be my first WC setup, planned on starting small but figure I'll just go all the way right from the get go.

Loop order does not affect temperatures. The 15C temperature the previous poster talked about was due to another uncontrolled change.

Due to the high heat capacity of water the temperature of the water in your loop does not change by more than 2C during a single lap around your loop.

Use the loop order that requires the least amount of tubing.
