I've seen it happen at least 3 times now to members on this forum and other forums.
Though it only usually happens overclocked to 4Ghz+ with excessive amounts of voltage. I've seen pics of the board, looks like they cheaped out with the third-transistor-over-MOSFET driver design and don't use low RDS. That's usually the issue.

the motherboard i got off ebay came beaten up and fried, so i opened a case then got a 890fx ud5 gigabyte off the egg. so i'm kinda forced financially to stick with ati for now, but two 5770s dont do bad from what i understand
