no i set a custom profile , so when at 70c its 70% fan .. 80% fan would be so annoyingly loud ..

This is true but cos at 950 with the fan up 80% it does stay stable , its just too loud though ... 1 thing i hate about this card is the noise it makes lol i can just imagine 2 of them with 80% fan 0_0

Anyways, my I attempt to reach 990 GHz has fail but I did make progress. Normally the card window would crash before the 2nd or 3rd Crysis loop, at 990 clock, but with the fan set to 70% I was able to complete 8-9 loops before it crash.
I need proof with multimeter.

Edit: Forgot i actually got a multimeter myself.

Crysis benchmark 30 Loop fail at 980/1400 1.4v with fan speed @ 55%

Crysis benchmark 30 Loop pass at 980/1400 1.3v with fan speed @ 70%.

Myn you... The average FPS is low because I'm using RealLifesis_ToD2. If you don't know what that is then google it.

The temperature plays a huge role in the 6950 overclock-ability. I should be able to hit 1GHz on the core with aftermarket cooler. This is great progress people!

BadB0y @ TPU is playing in the same ballpark as the 580gtx with his 6950 overclock to 1000/1400. He's using an aftermarket cooler and did some benchmark comparison as well.

Reporting back: 1.3v in af read 1.31v on the multimeter, tried 1.4 and it showed 1.36v on the multimeter, tried 1.5v showed 1.36v on the multimeter and so on. So it looks like the software limit is actually 1.35v or something.
Got a video of it.

Got 975 with 1.3v and i thinks its all due to heat. If have increase fan speed to 100% i can do 1Ghz.

How are people claiming maxing out their card on stock voltage through CCC? That just doesn't make sense to me.

I can't go above 920 core (not sure what memory clock) without an issue. And previous cards I've had were the same (two different 5770's... people claimed super overclocks which never worked out).

I don't understand if the majority is raising their e-size, or if they're simply reporting clocks that are only stable in games *sometimes*.

Stock voltage is 1.0v-1.1v and we're pushing 1.3v to achieve 980MHz-1Ghz. One more thing we're not using CCC.
