I dont like Metro 2033, only game to make my gtx 470 look like a complete joke - Page 23

It requires at least overclocked 580 SLI to run this game maxed out 60FPS @ 1920x1080 but it will look worse than Crysis. Volumetric smoke and tesellation are awesome but faces and character models are just lame, uncomparable with Crysis.

There's actually no such thing as 2xAA in Metro. In VH mode, you can choose AAA or 4xMSAA. In High mode you can choose AAA (which is actually no AA in High mode) or 4xMSAA.

Both Tess and ADoF can be toggled off/on when you're in DX11 mode, regardless of the general quality setting, in the game

I think the lighting and shadows in Metro are also superior to Crysis. Overall the impression to me is that Crysis 'looks better', but when you get down to specific details, there's not a lot of individual aspects that are genuinely superior in Crysis aside from the models (that I've noticed).

Basically I think a well-rendered, beautiful tropical island just looks better than a perfectly-rendered grimy post-apocalyptic Moscow subway

The character models though are pretty pathetic. They look like the random NPC's in Half Life 2, and not even as good as the storyline people like Alyx and Barney. And that game is almost 7 years old now.

You know what woulda made me like the game Metro2033 a LOT more?

1) No gasmask mechanic - I found it annoying
2) No pumping up of my light - Also found that annoying
3) A better 'feel' to the gunplay. I just didn't enjoy the shooting in that game much. Compared to Stalker or BC2 or the CoD games, it just felt 'wrong' to me. Which sucks, since it IS a 'shooter'.
4) Less 'swarmy' enemies. Too often I was just swarmed by ground-level baddies and resorting to blasting randomly towards my friggin feet.

It's been a little while since I've played it. Been playing an assload of BC2 lately.

I'll check it out in a minute though, see what I've got it set to.

Dude what are you smokin? 460's better than a 5970? Wake the heck up. Hell, 5850's in crossfire beat 460's in SLI almost ALL of the time. There's maybe one game that SLI'd 460's beat out 5850's. And remember, you can OC the ATi cards too.

I just read through some reviews not too long ago when I was contemplating getting a couple of 460's, but then decided the gain over my CFX'd 4870's wasn't enough to go through the hassle. SLI'd 460's are maybe 30% faster, stock for stock.

I totally agree with you, I have NO problems running Crysis maxed at 1080p.

As for Metro, I had no problems there either. I believe I turned AA down to 2x, but everything else was maxed. I played through a lot of the game without any issues.

Maybe Nvidia's just no good for the game?
Omega, I like you, but shut up. My overclocks are higher than these by the way.

http://m.tweaktown.com/articles/3460...ked/index.html

Are stock clocks. Most games the sli is right behind the 5970.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/N...460_SLI/7.html

At most resolutions aside from the 2560 which requires huge amounts of VRAM (and I bet the palit 2gb ones would be a better comparison for this) the 460 sli kicks everythings ass, aside from the 470sli.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...i_7.html#sect2

As shown in my above articles I've proven my point. I'm not smoking anything. @1920x1080 my sli of 875/1660/1000 hands down crushes a 5970 on any game. Bold claim, but from above evidence it shouldn't be too hard to fathom. And again note in my original post I was referring to MY 460 SLI. not stock 675. As shown by the tweaktown reviews, even the 460 @ 830 core is better. I rest my case. It is up to you to provide evidence for a rebuttal.

Check out spykerv, throwing down the gauntlet, along w/the evidence. I like yer style, dude.

For my part, if there is ANY game I believe that SLI 460's could dominate a 5970 on, it is Metro.

BTW, doesn't the 5970 get to be OC'd though as well, to be fair? They're pretty good OC'ers, most will go from 725/1000 to 950/1200 if memory serves.

At least you can be sure based on past evidence that Blackie isn't going to resort to the old "Yeah, but you're not me, so there's no way you can know what my rig can do!!!" argument so famously promulgated by my erstwhile friend c010redbi11s.

You have the evidence, but you may want to edit the bolded area, just cause it makes you dangerously close to sounding like CB.

I like 460sli, good price and great performance, I just dont like how its 2 gpu's already and not much more room for expansion, but other than that they beat my card from what I hear
