i think i'll stick to the 88tdv evo then. i feel bad for asking so many questions, but i have 2 more, then i'm done =]

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-...-12v-120mm-fan

should i get that psu instead of the corsair one, and on this build, what is the likelihood of reaching a 4GHz speed? would i need better cooling? ambient temp is usually around 19-20C here at the moment

The 955 should be great for reaching 3.6GHz. I reached it on stock voltage. And the Hyper 212+ will be prefect for it, not sure if it'll let you hit 4GHz though.

Dont worry mate , ask whatever you want to ask.
Coolermaster GX series used to be very good for its price range, but for the last few
years, many CM psus have died (sometimes even taking the whole system with it) here. I have even heard about a few lawsuits. Two of my closest firends had their new GX series and the cheaper series PSUs die on them. Since then I dont recommend it to anyone. I have bought quite a few corsair psus for my friends (and myself too) and all of them have served us well. This much I can say.
If you get a c3 edition cpu, you will definitely be able to reach 4ghz mark. But for 24x7 use, it is not recommended. It will create tremendous stress on your mobo vrms. Its better to use 3.6/3.8Ghz for daily use. If you must use 4ghz for 24x7 use, get the 965be, its stock speed is 3.4ghz so you will have 200mhz less to cover.
But there is no practical use for spending that extra money.

As for cooling, if you are on a tight budget, hyper212+ is ideal for you. Its very good but not great. For a 3.6/3.8GHz OC it is more than enough.

C3 does not guarantee 4ghz. i had three 555BEs in my room two weeks ago. 2 of them can do 4.2ghz no problem with very little voltage (1.46v; stock is 1.40v). the third one has a very hard time doing 4ghz and needs 1.51v to get it stable. this third one crashed on me millions of times, it does not like 4ghz. all three of them were C3. there is nothing that guarantees 4ghz, i find it odd that people are claiming that C3 guarantees 4ghz. it doesn't, trust me.
