exactly, every kind of new gimmick has been done with games. Now the only thing to change will be how WE interact with the game. Kinect and Move are good starting points.

Research is good but I hope they fix the lego block models and blurry textures of Rage. If not I'm going to be forced to install it on my HTPC and run upscaled 720 effectively simulating a "next gen console".

Interaction, gameplay and graphics should be improved together.
One isn't better than the other.

Don't give developers an out by saying, "I rather have gameplay over graphics." Let them know that everything is important in game develoment and "we" as consumers are already paying for a product that should be constantly evolving with new technology.

This! Graphics can only take you so far.. look at Crysis for example, great looking game but average gameplay

No kidding. Use the processing power to give us more things to interact with and experience. Give us better weather, physics, options, choices. Let things change around us. Let me interact with anything I see. If developers would give us more things to do in games we might not complain so much about them being so short. When you can't do anything other than shoot the bad guy and move to the next point then you tend to run through the game pretty fast. Give me a reason to look around, mess with stuff, and not just cannonball run the game.
