title says it all, im dying to get my hands on an SSD, but ultimately its really not vital for me to get one right now.

as much as I am a performance junky, I cant imagine being disappointed with any SSD

so as it stands im debating between...

Corsair performance 3
C300
Vertex 2
wait?

if the options to wait..how long are we talking to the next best thing comes around? (guesstimations welcome haha)

Edit: as much as the vertex 2 seems like a great drive, for the price im thinking C300 is a way better option for me, I won't be doing much writing to the drive anyway? so faster read = win?
that and it seems the C300's are better value per GB atm

These things are on a quick road to becoming $1/GB. I bought my 80GB Intel X25-M SSD 4-5 months ago? for $224 when MSRP was like $240. It was on an Amazon deal for $135 the other day. I vote wait. (P.S: add a poll. Go to edit to do it)

I'd vote wait as well. If you're wanting more performance, grab another F3 1TB for RAID0 goodness to hold you over for now. Just don't forget to backup your important data .

I have like 0 Important data.

my intention was always to use the F3 for a backup/media and buy a SSD in the future sometime here.

I've had raid 0 raptors before and I just cant see justifying the price to raid a standard HDD especially since I will never come close to touching 1TB much less 2TB

This is why you short stroke the RAID 0 array . Get a MUCH lower latency that way, making the drives feel a lot faster.
