nah you'll probably just need a net connection to authorise your copy. everyone seems to be doing it these days.

also i just finished trying the demo on Xbox. pretty fun, has great potential... but it really felt like a console game haha. and before i get the typical "but you were playing it on console" comments, what i mean is the game felt like a console shooter.

if you play FPS games on PC and console you'd know what i mean.

i just hope the PC version is awesome, coz as i said it looks like it'll be a great game. i might get it for console as well but i want the PC one to shine

I think the minimum requirement is based on a very resolution but still playable and I guess that would be 1280x720 as this game was orginally designed for console so the port will likely to be similar so maybe the minimum requirement means playing at low res. Because I tried max out the settings on Crysis Warhead before @ 1440x900 on my 9600GSO and I find it quite playable, well maybe not but I get at least 30fps or around that but to some gamers 60fps+ is playable but I find around 30fps is alright. Hopefully Crysis 2 will run smoothly on my system even if that means playing at 720p T_T.

I find it interesting that alot of people want to see the requirements for the game to be so far through the roof thinking that will make the game look and play that much better instead of seeing the game more optimized toward hardware that is out there. People seem to think that if you need a system that costs $4000 to play the game that it will look unbelievably good, which is not so. Take consoles for instance, look at the titles from launch date and look at the titles 5 years after launch date. Same hardware, nothing has changed except an understanding of how to use the hardware at hand. Games and engines have been optimized and look and play much better. It seems like some Crysis players simply want to have a pissing contest on who spent more money on their rig. Which is fine, be proud of what you have and what your machine can do. But also remember that when a company decides to cut corners by badly coding or by not optimizing they are hurting the consumer by forcing people into early and unneeded upgrades. I mean **** there seems to be a newer better video card out every week! How is someone supposed to keep up with that?

There have been sequels to games that look and run better than he previous version by gaining a better understanding of the hardware at hand. Bigger and more is not always better, I'm sure someone could figure out a way to cram four times the amount of gunpowder into a .45, but what would the end result be?

Pfft...yeah right. I bet these "minimum" specs are for running on lowest settings at 640x480 or something, unless pigs started flying and Crytek decided to optimize games for the current available PC hardware for once rather than workstation supercomputers...

Not gonna buy this game at launch anyway, even with a brand new rig (until it hits £6-£10 on Steam).

That's the way to do it. Steam still sells cod4 for like $80 (aus) so if it's really popular it won't go down for a long time.

all videos of crysis so far has been on consoles i believe. We don't know what the game on pc will actually look like because there is no footage, but its certain it will be tons better looking than the consoles, as stated by the developers, and it would be idiotic if the graphics were identical on all platforms. The settings for crysis 1 will probably perform better on crysis 2, but to use any of the new features on crysis 2 with its new cryengine 3 would probably be very taxing. I guess we just have to wait and see.
