Is handbrake the fastest converter for my 2600K? Can is use hyperthreading and all the fancy stuff so it won't take forever to convert a video file?

If there is anythnig better i'd like to know

Thank you

I used to use handbrake, but went on to buy DVD Catalyst for $10.00.

Main reason I purchased it was all the presetings it had, mainly for my Droid X. The paid version is multi threaded, not sure if it uses HT for the conversions though. Something to look into.

i've been looking into Freemake Video Converter. it's pretty good

you could try MediaCoder NT edition.

i'm starting to think some of Handbrake's strengths are offset by the usability issues it has

(note that i've started to prefer CUDA-based conversion for the speed and the quality is fine for me)

if you have an NVIDIA gpu, definitely look at any CUDA encoder. These new cards rip through movies way faster than my i7
