I definitely don't buy the "small percentage" of users argument either.

I'm sure there's a lot of people who have the mouse, have one or more of the aforementioned issues, and just haven't said anything. I wouldn't take a stance that only a few people have the issue if I was running PR for the company, but it can be tough to gauge the percentage when most people can't be bothered to say anything.

I'd agree though. Too many people here talking about the same issues for it to be a small percentage.

Now I have to decide if I want to get a g400 or the spawn with my valor money.

Hello,

So there is no further confusion, the DPI issue was already addressed in a post I made around 2 weeks ago a couple of days after the initial release of the Valor. Here is what was said in case you missed it:
Quote:
Negative Acceleration (mostly @ 500dpi)
Firstly, let me start by apologizing to all of the users who are experiencing this issue. I can’t even begin to explain the hard work which went in to the development of this sensor and its firmware prior to release. The firmware for the Valor was developed in conjunction with Avago Technologies as well as a third-party to ensure we could accomplish what has not yet been done with this sensor and that was create flawless movement at a very low DPI setting; a DPI setting lower than what was originally designed (or even expected) this sensor would be used at.
Prior to shipment, with very extensive testing, we were very satisfied with the results and believed we accomplished our goal. These tests included readings of negative acceleration, positive acceleration, lift-off distance, perfect control, malfunction speed, and DPI loss.

Starting last night and in to this morning, we have been in direct contact with several engineers at our manufacture going over and analyzing data in an effort to locate this issue and resolve it as soon as possible. I have also personally been in contact with our engineer at Avago who has had involvement with the firmware development for the Valor.

Also, to confirm, the firmware of the Valor is updatable.

This is an absolute top priority for us until a resolution is found. We have added additional quality control checks and requirements for outgoing shipments which includes testing for the negative acceleration.

So to confirm, yes, we are/have been working on new firmware to support these DPI steps much better than what is currently being displayed. Seeing as it's a holiday weekend, I will have a much better update later on this week from all ends working on this update.

As I've also mentioned before, the firmware for this sensor is not something that can be simply corrected overnight. Rest assured though, we are working to release new firmware as quickly as we can.

We have a pretty accurate idea of how many users there are who received Valors with the issues described in this forum. We caught these issues early on, corrected the remainder of our inventory, and reissued new quality control standards to our factory's procedure as well as our own in-house checks.

With the amount of Valors out to the public now including ones being ordered and shipped everyday, I can confidently say that the number of users who have/had issues is still quite small.

So what about the people that did receive a defective product? Do i seriously have to pay shipping to send the defective product back to Puretrak and then pay shipping AGAIN to get a new, working mouse sent back to me? So i have to pay shipping three times just to hope to get a working mouse?

Am I eligible to get a new valor if mine has a wobble problem and the rubber grip for the thumb is slightly misplaced, causing a bit of the robber near the end to be jutting out? It is not smooth all along the edges because teh rubber is attached slightly off causing a bit of it to stick out..not a huge issue, but it certainly is not what I expect of a product I pay for. What is the policy on this?

Glad to hear you are working on it, I understand its not a easy process but im still surprised after all the work that had been put into this mouse that this wasnt noticed, i mean im not a engineer but it took like a second to realise the dpi didnt seem close to what they were supposed to represent and then about a min after that to notice the acceleration. Was that not looked at by QC? Was QC just making it lit up and tracked? Anyways love the feel of the mouse but its a paperweight at the moment for me so hopefully the next firmware fixes everything, I really wanna keep this mouse.
