Does the 6090 track best on cloth or hard surfaces?
Hard, like all laser based Avago sensors.

Well the G500 does not track well on the roccat sota same with the XAI. The kone plus tracked ok on the sota. Maybe i need to try more hard surfaces out. Im thinking of buying a steelseries 4HD.

UPDATE FROM PURETRAK!
-
PureTrak: Hey everyone,

A little update from where I left you guys off at. Preliminary testing with ADNS-3090 @ 500dpi as the base step turned out fantastic results with an impressive malfunction rate. We saw minor positive acceleration which we will be sure to work out in the polished, final release.

Other Updated Changes (2/12/2011):
DPI levels will now be reworked to 500/1600/2400/3500dpi
4-way scrolling has been removed (thanks for the feedback on this!)
Preinstalled PerfectGlides thickness changed from .6mm to .8mm

I am extremely happy to be hearing feedback and input from so many of you. After all, this project has no purpose without you. I want to make it very clear that you opinion matters greatly to us. If there is something you don't like with the features we've already implemented, please voice your opinion. We are all ears.

I will be posting back here most likely Monday or Tuesday when I provide some solidified information on the dpi rework as well as additional information we're cooking up (MAYBE SOME PICTURES?! )

Till next time!

Wow its nice that a company actually listened. I still wonder what is with this 500dpi fad. Its been appearing since the Zowie EC1 and EC2. Why didnt they stick with good old 450 or 400 dpi?

Oh noes they added 50 more dpi, this mouse is suxors..

Wanna know something funny?

-The Avago S3888 and S3668 at 450 DPI track similarly in distance to the OS MLT 04 @ 400 DPI.

Due to that, a ton of people started spreading rumors saying that the newer 3.0's are 450 DPI. I've tested this theory with multiple 3.0's, 1.1's, and a couple WMO's that date back to 2003. They all track the same, Period.

-The Kinzu's Sensor @ 400 DPI required a much lower sensitivity than the 3.0/1.1 even without trying to provoke the acceleration the mouse is prone to.

-The Avago ADNS-3060 (Zowie EC2/EC1 Sensor) @ 400 DPI + 2.25 sens should theoretically track the same distance as the S3888 at 450 DPI and 2 sens, but they don't.

-Same thing goes for the ADNS-9500/PTE and other mice.

Reason? I've come to the conclusion that all sensors are not created equal, and yes before you say anything to try to debunk this, I actually tracked to the point the sensor cut out over my pads and not the individual shape of the mouse.

Wow, I really cannot wait for this mouse. The fact that they actually listened to feedback about certain things and changed the design is amazing. I really hope it ends up having a similar shape to the mx518/g5, or at least the lip on the right side of the mouse for easier lift off. WTB picssssssss.
