Gigabyte M750SLI-DS4

Thread Starter
Hello guys. Today i received a gift from a friend, it's a Gigabyte M750SLI-DS4 and a phenom ii x2 545, i cleaned it up first and then mounted it on my pc case.
All things good but when i powered it up it was just doing a long beep and restart itself over and over. So i removed all the memory sticks (4xDDR2 Geil Ultra 800mhz, 4-4-4-12 2.0V, i used them on my old motherboard) and i inserted an old ddr2 533 mhz Samsung stick with which the motherboard booted properly. After that i removed the samsung stick and replaced it with 1 ddr2 Geil stick, again it booted properly. Now the problem is that when i try to add more than 1 stick it just does the 1 beep and then restart itself again. Currently i'm using just one stick as i don't know what to do anymore since i never encountered this problem before.
Thank you and perhaps someone could help me with this problem.

1 RAM slot may be dead (try the non-working stick in the slot that your working stick is in, vice-versa). Try putting the RAM in the other coloured slots.

Sorry i didn't mentioned but i checked every slot and they are working good, only that it won't boot properly with more than 1 memory stick.

That's highly unusual, though 545 is a C2 rev CPU it shouldn't have any problems till you reach 4 DIMMs or so. It is an old board, so perhaps you may need a BIOS update. The motherboard/BIOS might be conflicting with the newer memory controller on the 545.

I had the same problem with my GA-MA78G-DS3H.
Put the sticks in different coloured slots. It will run in single channel, but will boot.

As far as I can tell, there is no fix for this inability to run dual channel. (Apart from getting 100% compatible sticks)
BIOS updates will not fix it, nor will changing timings and memory voltages. RMAing did not fix the issue for me either.
