For around $70, $50 AR...
Antec NEO ECO 620W - $64, $45 AR
$5 cheaper, and it actually does supply 620W I'm convinced that this PSU is better than the rest of them above listed by both of you (considering price-performance as well as things such as build quality, OEM manufacturer, temperature rating, etc.)

Are you stuck with compusa as your supplier? Prices are high for generic stuff. Much better off with Newegg, amazon, buy.com.

Here is a much better build that I put together yesterday. Should be cheaper and perform better.
Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-11121096-L05A $40 shipped
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402 $84 shipped after $15 mir
CPU/cooler combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.593267 $143 shipped (this is a 95W C3 cpu)
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185 $65 shipped (will spank the wd caviar)
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820104203 $35 shipped after $15 mir
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-17371031-L07A $50 shipped after $10 mir (slightly overkill for a single 5770 and a quad core, but can't beat the price)
Optical drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118039 $17 shipped
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161338 $100 after $30 mir

New total = $534 after $70 in rebates ($604 + tax before rebates)

Edit: Forgot you wanted a fan controller: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-005-_-Product $27 shipped
I say YES to generic 1333 memory. But mine is 1.5 v.

Ahem, wh---
lol, do you not see that the Kingston HyperX Blu is a decently-rated kit, overclocks very well and is cheaper than every single other 1333 generic memory kit out there (after rebate of course but still!)
And that's only one of my reasons I say NO to generic memory 1.5V or not, among the other reasons include:
1. poor performance scaling on AMD below 1600Mhz
2. it will hold back your overclocks and provide you with less options
3. not very optimal for memory performance (best results = lower timings, ~1600Mhz or up)
4. Just about any AMD processor can run 1600Mhz with no problems [only C2 revision, you may have to add voltage]

alright, I went out and picked up one of these...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...005&Tpk=tx650w

also I am thinking of getting this cpu cooler. what are your opinions on it?

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...4989&CatId=493

I was concerned about clearance issues with it in my case.(thermaltae v3) but when i picked up the power supply I saw one of the employees builds that actually had my case and that cooler. fits fine and has about 1 1/2" or so of space before it touches the side panel. is that guy a good buy?

@mwl5apv, if you're interested, I have two brand new HIS 5830s in their boxes collecting dust. If you're willing to spend $120 on a GTS 450, I can offer that price for an AMD - HIS 5830. I know you're prefer Nvidia, but the 5830 is a great gpu and offers superior performance over the GTS 450. Again, if you're interested, drop me a PM.
