GT 440 vs 8800GT.

Thread Starter
Just a question - if I were to upgrade from an 8800GT to a GT 440, how much would performance decrease? I know that the GT 440 has way less bandwidth, fewer stream processors, and a much slower texture fillrate, but exactly how much slower would it be?

My questions are simply academic - I just want to know.

a GTS 450 would be a better bet, a GT 440 is prob going to run like a low powered overclocked 9600gt

I'm just interested in knowing because the GT 440 obviously has lower power consumption and is in a much smaller package compared to the 8800GT.

Its 128-bit bus is somewhat small, however...

here man, it wasn't hard to find on google
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GeForce_GT_440/1.html

the 440 is just barely better than GT 430 which sucks for the price also.

its obviously alot less powerful than a 8800gt, hence why you should get a GTS 450.

best thing to do if ur wanting a low power card is to wait for the radeon 65xx 67xx series coming up

Gt440 is basically an OC GT430. Other than draws about 40w less than 8800GT, nothing is special. 8800GT is better.
