What did I fry?

Hi all,
I did something really pretty dumb last night. I ordered another set of 2 sticks of Gskill memory identical to the pair I purchased 2 months ago from Newegg (alert when the price went down was the reason I waited). After installing the new memory in several different configurations, including pairs purchased at the same time in the same channel and every other combination I could think of, I kept getting bsod immediately when running prime95 (the third option that stresses memory), but memtest passed fine with all 4 sticks in. In an attempt to gain stability I increased my NB voltage from the Auto setting up to 1.3, then 1.4 with no change in stability, but was able to boot. I ended up going all the way up to 1.45 because it was still white (very dumb of me to not check temperatures) and the board died. I dont know if my CPU is fried, or if its just the NB or other mainboard component. In retrospect I should have increased memory voltage first, but I'm an idiot. The board has no lights on and does nothing (no fan or anything). I tested the power supply and it tests fine, and I dont think its the issue. My question is does changing the NB voltage (not CPU-NB) affect the temperature/voltage of the CPU, and could I have damaged my RAM or CPU as well? I have a high end air cooler on the CPU and my case was open with an actual fan blowing on it, but I could tell the CPU heatsink was really hot. I'm pretty bummed, RMA'ing the board through MSI now. I appreciate any help.

System Specs:
Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
Mainboard: MSI NF980-G65
Gskill Ripjaw DDR3 1600 - G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

Overclocked Specs:
CPU Core V: 1.424v
Core Speed: 3800Mhz
Multiplier: x19
Bus: 200Mhz
HT Link: 2000Mhz

Memory (during one of the stable boot's AFTER adding the 2 new sticks)
Frequency: 800MHz

I am wondering. Can you bake a motherboard if you screw it up?

If you burned anything, I'd say if was a little MOSFET... and imo, you CPU and RAM should be just fine.

If you want to be really sure, you could always pop your hardware into another system or a friends system and do a test run.

Also, the Hyper 212 is a modestly good cooler, so no worries there.

Caca happens, just don't dwell on it

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I did get a burning odor, although I disassembled the heat pipes on the board now that I have it out and I cant see any visible damage anywhere - can you visually see a burnt out MOSFET? I tried a cmos reset as well as removing the batter and waiting a while - I'm not getting any lights on the board at all, so I'm pretty sure its dead.

Try removing all parts except for one stick of ram, cpu, and only required hardware to boot. make sure you have reset CMOS chip, and see if she'll boot... basically, you want to see if the bare minimum will boot. This means no GPU as well. If this doesn't work, try rotating out a different stick of ram.

Peacemaker, normally I would have gone through all of that, but I'm not getting ANY lights at all, including a light on the NIC which is always lit when its plugged into the switch. I'm thinking Munkypoo is right in that the power supply on the motherboard itself is fried because even with a blown NB or processor I should still see at least one light on the board indicating that it has power. Do you agree,

Dont worry dude, I'm not telling them anything, though to be honest I'm pretty sure they can check the last settings on the board, but its probably cheaper for them just to replace the bad component and sell it again. I have the RMA request in to MSI now, for some reason it takes up to 48 hours just to get the RMA number...I guess I'll buy another board and sell this one on ebay when i get it back or something.
