Generator-Shopping?

Thread Starter
Purposed Specs:
i7 950 to 4.0
Asus P6X58D
AMD 6970 GPU
850w PSU
6GB Corsair RAM
Silver Arrow
2 Platter Drives
1 SSD
6 Fans

Every time I think of turning on a pizza oven while anything else is running, the breaker downstairs flips. I have no chance of powering this rig in my ghetto apt, do I?

You can pull things off that circuit and put them on another, but that's about it.

There is always the "pull the breaker and put in a higher capacity one" but that is a terrible idea, and a great way to burn down your house.

LOL? No risk, no fun!

So you got one choice, if you want to use your rig don`t have anything running. You could look how much watts this pizza-thing uses, cut say 50W
and thats the maximum power for your PSU.
Good Luck!
/* I never heard of planning a rig with this limitation eek.gif */

Call the housing inspector. Better yet, find a used oxygen machine and claim you can't use it in *insert room here*. They will get it fixed or pay rent for you somewhere else for the rest of the duration of your lease.

Don't mess with fuses unless you have really good renters insurance and/or want to get sued.

Better option would be a UPS or to run a proper rated extension cord from another circuit to your location. You'll need to figure out AWG or you'll yet again burn your house down.

Good luck!
