The button turns the pc on but wont turn it off, no matter how long I hold it in for. Thanks for all the help so far, waiting for the new cmos battery.

And to answer your question about the monitor, it is plugged into the video card.

p.s. +rep to you guys for suggestions.
the faulty button could well have caused this problem as it is highly important for your pc to power down correctly.did you unplug psu and then hold down power button for 30+ seconds, googled and googled and this seems like a fix for some people.if nothing works it could be time to rma again,or send parts back and replace altogether.

Sorry for replying so late, was out fixing my car. I got the new Cmos battery and that did nothing. I unplugged it and held the power button for 30 seconds still nothing. I think the motherboard is bad but gigabyte sent it right back to me so I dont know whats up. I think I will email them tonight and hope this time they try and fix it.
