Only for another few days right? The 6990 dual GPU is due out really soon unless I'm mistaken, and due to the scaling of the 6000 series the performance should be massive. I wonder if it will keep up with the GTX590 dual-gpu due out soon.

I just didnt care how it sounded like a rocket in my HAF lol so I sold it and got a 470 which I traded for a 480 o.O
I was never impressed with performance in Crysis. It didn't feel any smother than it ran on my 280. I tried Morrowind with a few mods and it ran really well on my GTX280 and I tried it on the X2 and performance was horrendous. I was never impressed with performance in Stalker or Oblivion. There were a few other games but I wasn't too fond of that card. I ended up selling it and keeping my 280.

I also grantee that the op didn't pick that card up cheap. I don't get the point of this thread. There are better cards on the market now. If you don't feel the need to upgrade that is fine but don't try to justify it by spewing bs (not you, the op) about dx11 being like the Crysis DX10 renderer.

Read this article from PCgameshardware about Civ V

I don't have any experience with fermi but I have to ask which card was louder?

what benchmarking tool did you use to get like 20 fps?
and be careful comparing your apples to our oranges.
reread what i said carefully, i never said when benchmarking I get like 20 fps, I said if I were to play metro 2033 in dx10 my guess is that I would get around 50 fps, where as I see gameplay videos getting around 20- low 30's in dx11

I personally think so , dx11 vs dx9/10 is a big difference in image quality and also features teselation for more life like objects .. But if ur not that big of a gamer and ur not picky about stuff like that than its not that important .

come on dude, your getting higher frame rates due to lower features being ran, common sense. On the same note you are right, its worth it, just not right now. Not enough games using its full potential.

Water looks nice in LOTRO, but apart from that. No.

I didn't buy this card for DX11. The fact that it supports it is just a plus, i bought it for the performance.

You are comparing some gameplay videos to what you guess what framerate that you are seeing in one game. PS at the same settings in Metro that you use a 6870 might out perform your card.

You cant really compare the performance of a DX10 card to that of a DX11 card in the way you are trying to OP. The benchmarks you are talking about have low FPS because the DX11 card has DX11 and High Tessellation active. If I were to run my 460 in DX10 on a benchmark I would get amazing FPS. Its a matter of DX11 being more resource intensive than DX10.
I guarantee a decent DX11 card will do better in DX10 than a decent DX10 card.
Why?
Because its built for a more intensive instruction set. Like running a game from 4 years ago on a high end system. Your FPS skyrockets because the hardware is more powerful.

And as previously mentioned, most games dont use DX11, but some do.
And some games (i.e Civ 5) use tessellation and DX11 VERY well.

your right, that was a bad example, but i still wanted to get my point across with metro 2033 , i saw a single 4870 play metro maxed and it performed better than a 5870 maxing out metro on dx11
