Windows Backup Tool

Thread Starter
So I did a backup on 1/30/2011 which was for the sole reason of in case my Linux install went wrong on my main rig I would have a backup to simply restore to.

Well this did not work out well and am getting a lot of errors and have found out that whatever was plugged into your computer at the time must be plugged back in (had some flash drives installed). I have tried mimicking this and no luck so I have accepted a reinstall.

What I have found out is that if you install to a larger drive it will work, I tried reinstalling to the same exact drive with the same partition setup with no luck. Well I am going to setup a raid very soon here (WD Blacks 500gb x2) and was thinking of trying to restore to this drive which will be much larger then my 150gb single raptor I have now. Will reinstall to a raid work fine from a non raid setup?

With the backup tool I am not concerned with really fixing it to work on my current 150gb more about the future and restoring what I have (that way I don't have to go around finding everything again if I can just reinstall). I will also be using Clonezilla from now on.
