In a nutshell, basically just better video. The T2i also has arguably better high ISO performance (it uses the exact same sensor as the much-more-expensive 7D), but in real world prints you probably won't notice the difference.

I'd actually go for the D90 first if possible. It's cheaper, the same IQ as the T2i IMO, a bigger body, and did I mention cheaper? That extra cash could be better put to a new lens.

The D90 also has a bigger body than the T2i. If you've handled school cameras, more likely than not they're usually Rebels/D40s, so the bodies you're used to will be a bit smaller than the D90. The D90 also has two wheels (one for aperture, one for shutter speed) versus one on the T2i (used for both aperture and shutter speed).

So, personally, I'd get the D90 first. And if you'd notice my sig, this is coming from a Canon user

Sent the D90 guy an email. Hopefully he responds. I am willing to bet that I can haggle as well despite the already great price. It is hard to refuse cash in hand.

Update: Well, as usual, the listings are not reliable. The D90 is already sold.
