id rather have the 1gb evga card anyways OP, the larger memory interface will allow it to maintain fps better than the 768mb versions.

I would go with the MSI, better cooler for overclocking and its cheaper after rebate

The 1Gb gtx 460 beats the 768mb gtx 460 in every benchmark
The SE 1gb version has 48 less CUDA cores. Somehow I don't think more frame buffer can make up for the fact that it has less processing power. I could be wrong.

But I'm not.

Not true. That's extremely broad like saying a 4850 528mb will lose to a 4670 1gb. You have to factor in resolution and other specs. I'd rather take the 768 over the SE anyday.

I hate to break it to you, but I don't like misinformation being spread. The 768/1gb makes NO difference on folding--and you're advising him to get a SE (read: LESS CUDA CORES) for "better folding performance" ?? You need to do more homework before fighting with everyone here.

1) Memory makes no difference on folding, thats strictly down to CUDA cores (768 has more than SE) and core/shader clock.

2) The MSI will overclock very well, especially with that cooler. We're not picking that cooler for "looks". I personally don't like that look very much, but speaking from functionality standpoint: it's better.

3) You apparently keep missing the point, SE is NOT better than 768mb. Especially figuring in a similar overclock on both cards (but I bet the MSI can O/C a bit higher safely), the MSI will win.

To OP: By higher resolutions, I meant basically anything over 1080P. If you'll be at or below that (which you said you will) you won't even notice the memory difference anyways, and the SE would be a slower card.

Thank you all. I'll be getting the MSI card as soon as I get the chance. :]

Another question, on Newegg there is a promotion where you get Mafia II and Just Cause 2 for free (Steam key) with the purchase of any nVidia card. But they ran "out of stock", often going back in stock and off in matter of minutes.

Do you think I can call nVidia when I get the card to attain those games?
