I just need to tweak my memory settings and for some reason Windows 7 is only reading 8gb of memory, I open up cpu-z and it reads all 12gb is that normal? Regardless though my memory settings need to be changed can someone please help me out?

try raising the ram voltage.

the QPI/DRAM Core Voltage? What's a good value to try?

I'd try the DRAM Voltage before the QPI Voltage.

Try more vDIMM first.

If that doesn't work, try more QPI/VTT, which is what I suspect the problem is.

For QPI/VTT or QPI/DRAM try increasing it to 1.35v, see if that makes all DIMM's appear in windows. If not try 1.4 QPI/VTT.

This should be enough for 1600Mhz ram tbh on an i7, but all CPU's are different. FYI: Keep the vDIMM & QPI/VTT within a .5v range of each other for safety. Also, what are your timings at?

I tried QPI/VIT at 1.4v and I also tried a DRAM Bus Voltage as high as 1.7v. Still no luck, still reads at 8gb. My timings are are set to auto. They read as follows from cpuz.

Size: 12288
DRAM Frequency 800mhz
Channels Triple
NB Frequency 3200

DRAM Frequency 800mhz
FSB: DRAM 2:8
CAS Latency CL: 9
tRCD: 9
tRP: 9
trAS: 24
tRFC: 88
CR: 2T

also want to add that if i overclock to 4.2 it only shows at 4.0ghz in windows rating its always 200mhz underneath my overclock but cpuz shows otherwise

*UPDATE* I reseed all the memory it now reads all 12gb
