H70 & I7 2600k @ 4.5 Ghz Temps Normal?

Hey guys,

I'm running my sig rig @ 4.5 with HT on and at 1.32 vcore. I got the H70 rad set up in my case in push/pull blowing OUT of my case.

My temps at idle are from ~29C to 33c.

Prime load lowest core sits at ~61C to highest 70C.

Ambient is about 20C.

Is this about normal with the H70? Or do you think I need to reseat the block?

That's a pretty good temp for 1.32 v. But hey if it makes you feel better. I reseated my h50 at least 4 times because my temps were bad.....turns out it was air bubbles.

Wait, so the difference in temperature between your cores is 20C? That's not correct, you must have a bad mount.

I think your temperatures could be even lower.

damn thats real good. Im running an i7 950 @ 4.0ghz and it's idle temp is atm 50c but it is the middle of summer atm. I was starting to think my H70 had something wrong with it cause of the high temps.

No, that was a typo, it's lowest from ~61C to ~70C. Sorry. I've corrected it in the original post.

So that's good then? I've just been reading around that people have been getting really low temps. Idling at ~25C with a 1.35 vcore, and topping out in the low 60s. I don't know if that can be right.

That sounds about right. With my sig loop under GPU and CPU load I top out at 64C on the warmest core.

It seems a little high, I barely break 60 max on prime and I'm at 4.5 @ 1.30v, current ambient is about 22 and im jumping between 25-29 just doing some basic stuff. I also have a h50 push/pull on intake right now which is relatively similar.

Your sig loop is also a lot better than an H70 isn't it? My understanding is that the H70 should be on par with the best Air Coolers, i.e. Megahalems, Noctua D-14, and such.

That DEFINITELY sounds off. When I had my 2600K, I was hitting 4.6GHz with a maximum of 70c at 1.30vcore on a Hyper 212+ (a low/med end air cooler). A H70 should be doing a lot better.
