r5770 HAWK poor performance - Page 3

What version of drivers are you using?

Ok I tried the game at 1024x768 with no AA and got a whopping 40fps, sometimes hitting 45ish. I did notice : mem = 1114 next to the fps. Is that right? I have 2x GB cards. Also, is my 650w PSU sufficient?

I think crossfire doesn't add the Vram together. If your 5770 is 1gb crossfire with another 5770 1gb then it's still 1 gb vram. I think that's how it work but I'm not to sure. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Is he reaching the memory limit? Mem =1114.

Are you using the drivers that came on the disk with the card? If so are they MSI's video drivers or did you get ATI's Catalyst Control Center from ATI's website?
No 650 is plenty. Remember you also have to factor in efficiency, which in your case your fine and don't have to worry about either if those things. Yes, that's right about the cards memory. Go back and read my post about your res. Don't worry, You will get there bro.

I believe GTA IV says I have 19xx something, so idk. Could the CPU really be the bottleneck? I can't think of any game that can use a 3.2ghz quad core. As for my driver version I am running 8.812.0.0. I will have to see what my RAM is running at, 2 of the dims are a different voltage so maybe the other 2 lowered voltage to match? I will post my exact crysis settings shortly

Ok here are my settings:

1920x1080
AA x4
Textures, Shadows, Shaders, Effects, Postprocessing, Particles, and Water all ENTHUSIAST
Objects, Physics, Volumetric Effects, Sound and Motion Blur are GAMER

You mad?

Also, it maybe just a driver issue or something.

The CPU is not the bottleneck at all. A 3.2GHz quad-core is enough for anything these days. Just because it's not Intel doesn't mean it sucks.

Try 3DMark Vantage and see if your scores are appropriate for 1 card and Crossfire. If they are, then I recommend uninstalling drivers, using Driver Sweeper or the like, then using the latest drivers and see what happens with Crysis and GTA IV. If those are STILL fubar'd then try another game that's well known to be optimized for multi-gpu setups.

If that's STILL not goin' well then I don't know what to tell you. :/
