Its better if you use the chip as a dual core...some boards that have 4-1 phase control can become very hot when processor power passes 140watts, and honestly once you get the clock speed up to where i have mine no program really bogs it down plus you have a good graphics card which will take most of the load while gaming...leave it locked as a dual core for now, atleast you know you have a 3rd core if the system needs it.
I just yesterday upgraded to the V my temps went up 7 degrees at idle t0 37c reseated cooler three times same result...Also system took 7 seconds longer to restart from 31 to 38. I have just taken the Evo V out and put the Evo M back in! Back to 30c idle and 31 second restart. Evo V is going on fleabay later!
