This just p*sses me off, there isn't, and will never be any world record for "computer built in fastest time". And this is coming from someone who attempted to apply for the record and was turned down, quote on quote from the email they sent me
"Thank you for sending us the details of your proposed record attempt for 'Dekstop computer built in the fastest time'.
We are always delighted when we hear from people who want to break a record and were excited to read your application.
Unfortunately, after thoroughly reviewing your application with members of our research team, we are afraid to say that we’re unable to accept your proposal as a Guinness World Records title.
While we do not underestimate your ambition, we are unable to recognise records for the construction of computers by hand. This is primarily because of the widely varying components and procedures involved in doing so, but also the rapidly changing nature of computer hardware is such that an essential component today is likely to be obsolete in six months time. For this reason, subsequent record attempts are unlikely to require the same activities and therefore cannot be adequately compared for the purposes of determining world records.
Whilst we fully appreciate this is not the decision you were hoping for, we trust that you will understand our position. However, if you have any further record proposals please do make another application, we would be delighted to hear from you again.
Once again thank you for contacting Guinness World Records.

It just really annoys me, and to be honest, i probably would've won that competition.
It took me 4 minutes 28 seconds to unpackage and assemble a computer with GPU, CPU, zalman reserator 3, zalman z11, corsair dominator platinum
I booted to BIOS in all that time (after fitting it in a Zalman Z11, side panel closed and screwed and ALL cables connected) all in 4 minutes f*cking 28 seconds
So please, BBC, don't presume everything is a goddam world record. Yes they won a localized competition, they are NOT heralded as world record winners, and if there was an applicable record they shouldn't receive it, their computer was basically pre-assembled anyway
