6870 or 5850?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, looking for an upgrade to my 4870. It's a great card and all i just think its time for a new one

I don't want to hurt my wallet to much so i have 6870 in mind.
What do you guys think? should i go for it? are there better options like
the 5850?

p.s. the 5870 is to expensive here =[

6870 is slightly less powerful compared to a 5870, but is a good improvement to a 4870. You won't go wrong

Just FYI, I was to upgrade to a HD 6850, from a HD 4870, but it arrived DOA. So I got a GTX 460 to hold me over and its amazing! It blows away an HD 4870! I didnt expect that. But Im still gonna try a 6850 or 6870 when its all said and done.

Here is another link shown some numbers on 4870, 6870 and 5850. 6870 and 5850 draw about same power.

I live in New Zealand and can't buy from newegg, only local stores. And 5870's over here are really expensive.
