How did I do? My new computer. - Page 2

I'm also on the same boat as outdated computer but after i saw there are problems with the chipset i stopped the purchase. a lot of my hard drives are Sata II and i will not go over and replace all the hard drives to SATA 3 just for they will work good.

To me the 4800 GT will handle everything I need at this point. In a year, sure I may need a new video card, but I can buy one thats better and cheaper than what I would pay for it now.

I was just wanting your opinions. I'm not beating myself up, was just curious. I am sorry that my post doesn't fulfill your requirements.
Hah, I knew you were gonna get mad at me
I just meant that I think its weird that you ask now, because our advice would be of no use to you, unless you still had time to change your order of course. Or maybe all you wanted was "Good job nice system"

Why buy BC2 on a new computer when you're just going to have to turn the settings down and get crappy performance? The resolution on your monitor is not a good match for a 9800.

You're going to be disappointed in game performance.

Why are you asking now after you already bought it ? So we can point out all the possible wrongs of your new system and you can go beat yourself up about it ? If you wanted advice, maybe you should have asked before you bought it ?
I just don't see the point in a comment like this. I am not asking, 'should I buy this?'

Or this.

I just wanted feedback, like the other replies in this thread.

Horsemama - Nice name btw , the computer isn't soley for BC2. The monitor wasn't purchased to be the best fit for a 9800 GT either, I know the cards outdated. It's just a solution for now.

I believe you are getting feedback, unless you are looking for someone to say "well done you have bought great kit"

Thats just going to cause everyone frustration as you wont get the comments you are looking to get and everyone else will be a little annoyed!

Never mind.

EDIT - PS as you are new here - try not to take these things personally, people dont tend to be.

I wasn't criticizing any actual feedback. The two comments I quoted above have nothing to do with my post.

Anyways, going to try to swing a cheap gtx 460 when I can manage.

I guess what it came down to in the end was that if I didn't purchase the Kb/mouse and soundcard now, then I never would. At the same time, I couldn't have paid the same price for the video card I would have wanted. I guess that makes sense? lol

He means that it's pointless to ask now, 'cause when people tell you that you should have done B instead of A, there's no way to do anything about it and you'll just feel sad and start flaming people who point out flaws in your build. Threads like these are only negative unless you'd just spent $2000 and actually knew you had a killer rig and had reasons why you bought A over B.

I'm wondering why you picked that case. It's small, probably hot, and it only has room for graphics cards that are <27 cm (10.6 inches). Most top-end cards today are 10.5" and if the current trend sticks then they'll only get longer from here. The case might be too small in a year or 2.

Biohazard - Great reply. I really agree about the case too. I picked this case because honestly, my wife liked it. It's going in our bedroom, which btw, is her domain. I didn't know about all the specs you listed on the video cards, but I have done a lot of research.

Why post a thread like this?

I am excited about my new system. I know it's not the best computer in the world, but I don't think its justified that spending 2000.00 on a system soley gives you the right to post what you bought.

Im pumped, I wanna talk about it. WOOAA WOO AH
