New Nvidia GTX 440 - good card for Physx you think? - Page 2

Yes, a PhysX card will work fine in an x8 slot.

Aside from increased clocks and optional GDDR5, the GT440 doesn't offer any additional processing power whatsoever. I'm still pretty mad about this release tongue.gif
This is why I bought it. Well actually the phsyx part was just a plus since physx is barely ever used. It was bought mainly for folding.

Thread Starter
After reading your suggestions I think I'm just going to wait until I can put a second GTX 580 rather than a physx card. I thought I could save some cash but to only get a small percent in physx games only when I could get a much bigger boost in all games from a SLI option that just makes more sense.

I run Mafia 2 max settings with SLI 480s, FPS doesn't go below 60 at 1080p. I don't think you need a dedicated PhysX card if you have a high end setup.

Says the bod with TRI-SLI GTX470s!

a GTX460 768MB would be a better choice here

but SLI will give you way more performance...
