I really heven't used furmark very much. I mainly use 3dmark 06, 11,vantage,and occasionally I'll run heaven. Just like with prime 95 as a cpu stress test, when I am going for highest overall clocks I dont use it, mainly wprime and benches like that.

You can go as high as 1.9v on Ab with the voltage unlocker . under w/c i would say 1.35v-1.4v max..

Does a 5970 have just one lot of VRMs? as opposed to 5870's each having their own voltage control gear onborad? worth bearing this in mind.

VDDC(vrm) temps...remember to keep eye on them
This is what you need to pay attention more than the core temps.

Both of my 5970s are under water I was able to get 1000/1200 with 1.25v
My core temps under benchmarking were 40's or lower but vddc temps were reaching 80s. So watch out

Ya if you are ok with smoking your card or if nothing else taking about half of its like from it.

1.9v will be a 100% burn up for a 5970

I am using v0.5.1 of gpuz and it doesn't have a sensor labeled vrm or vddc temps only vddc voltage. It does have gpu temperature, then 3 windows down it says gpu temp 1, gpu temp 2, and gpu temp 3 which I assume are the vrm's. I also need to mention I am not currently on my benching rig, this rig has 1 6950 and I'm not sure if it should show vddc temps with this card or not.

Well I guess I wont get the chance to shoot for max clocks. I think my 5870 just died, and without it theres no way to break 35000 in vantage. Te good newsis I have 3 6950's waiting to be installed which should make breaking 35000 much easier
