Massive Screen Tearing in windows with CCC 10.10 and 10.11(or 11.1) in Eyefinity

I been using 10.8 on my eyefinity setup for sometime and I love it. Works amazing. I used this on my vista rig. I got the screen tearing on the vista rig with 10 and 11. I then upgraded my rig last night. I put in a new motherboard and ram. Installed Win7 and installed 10.11 or 11.1 as ati called it. lol I think it's the samething. Anyway in windows I get this nasty screen tearing. I also get it while loading a game but I don't get it while actually playing the game. Do any of you get this as well. I only see people with eyefinity complainning about it. Any fix? I'm going to go back to 10.8 i think later as it's just too annoying.

Can you apply vsync in windows?. This isn't happening in games. Only like when I scroll a window or move a window on my desktop or like while a game is loading and the a loading screen moves or something. When actually in game it's perfect.

Windows AERO (transparent GUI theme) has built in vsync. It uses a composition rate set per display to prevent tearing since it is 3d-accelerated. You should not be seeing any tearing with regular windows screens unless your running the basic windows 7 theme.

Tearing in fullscreen exclusive games is a different story. Vsync-buffering should fix any of that unless there is a serious driver flaw. Without vsync tearing can definitely occur when you starting mixing fps w/ refresh rate (hz)

Well it only happens in windows under ccc 10.10 and 10.11. 10.8 doesn't do it at all. Screen tearing is the only way I can explain it. It only happens when the screen moves in some way like moving a window or scrolling a window or something. It's weird.

this looks to be a eyefinity problem and people are blaming the adapters and stuff but it's the drivers. I can run 10.5 to 10.8 flawlessly but 10.10 to 10.12 are bugged or something. These will do it. So I'm just going to go back to 10.8 and hope they fix it someday. lol unless anyone knows a fix.

10.8 is one of the better releases anyway, sucks you might be missing additional features added for that series, if any.

Eyefinity may have tearing because the monitors may not be in sync between DP and DVI. Sometimes they are in sync; sometimes they are not.

No it's the drivers. Never once had a problem with my eyefinity until I started using 10.10 and 10.11

It's completely fixed now. All the 6xxx series guys are blaming the problem on adapters and monitors but it's the drivers. 10.8 put it right back to normal and is running perfect.

I love Eyefinity!

Sounds like drivers to me

Nvidia had some horrible screen tearing/blurred bar on 1080p video playback on the bottom (same spot every video) if you had aero off with everything until 266.xx drivers.

It was so funny to me how one would do it everytime and the beta driver wouldnt. I wonder how these little quirks get through driver testing with nvidia/ati. I would imagine they would have several different test machines set up with different configs to ensure everything is working before release but who knows....

fix one thing break another. glad you figured it out.... i know how frustrating stuff like that can be.
