Tygon Silver vs Tygon Black Tubing

Thread Starter
I have the silver antimicrobial sitting on my chair right now with a kill coil sitting on top.

I'm kinda having remorse buying the silver though because the black would look so much better inside my case.

Are there any HUGE benefits to getting the silver? Will the black laboratory tubing kink because the silver is strong as a whip?

Tygon tubing is tygon tubing. I have never heard of any real difference in the quality between the colours of it. Sure the silver has some anti-microbial stuff in it, but that's what you have the kill coil to cover. This is a non-issue. Get whichever one you like the look of best.

I bought the silver, but it did not stop algae in my loop, now using a kill-coil in addition.

Yeah, even though they say there's anti-microbial fancy tubing materials being used, I've always opted for the additional kill-coil or PT nuke.

Non-toxic (relatively), silver works for me (so far).
Tygon Silver (TS) is merely part of a chain of precautionary measures . I also considered Tygon UV (TUV) resistant tubing, but was swayed towards TS with its smooth, plasticizer-free inner bore (zero chance of polymerization), slightly greater resistance to kinking and most importantly, its much lower water absorption percentage.
