Phenom II X6 1055T Stuck at 3.01GHZ Noob Needs Help Please

So this is my intro to overclocking. I was hoping that while I continue to read more and more about it someone would be able to suggest some settings to increase my speeds right now in the mean time while I practice. I'd really like to see what this system can do while I am learning and will then be able to tweak it on my own. The build is in my signature.

I managed to get it to 3.01 which is an exciting accomplishment, but from what I've read so far I KNOW this CPU can handle 4.0 fine.

So far I've just tinkered with the CPU Frequency. Anything over 215 with the current settings seems to crash after booting Windows or just be unstable. I Know I need to change voltage, but that is where I am looking for some specific settings because I know if I screw up badly when it comes to voltage...bad things can and will happen.

Adding some more info. I really want to get this to a decent speed WHILE I learn to do it. If anyone has the same Mobo/CPU by chance I'd really appreciate settings.

I did not change the voltage at all because I don't want to experiment and do harm to the PC without knowing enough about it.

Any suggested settings I can try?

incress CPU clock Ratio to x16
incress CPU Frequency to 250MHz
set HT Link Frequency to 2000MHz
set system Voltage Control to Manual
incress CPU Voltage to 1.48V
if it boot try slowly lower your CPU voltage

max CPU Volatge will be 1.50V after that you may decress the chip life but not harm it at all

Thanks! I can try these settings when I get home from work.

One thing I know off the top of my head is that since I've flashed to the newest Bios (looking up version now) it got rid of all Clock Ratio options over 14X.

I will make absolutely sure to never raise the voltage over 1.50v since my goal is 4.0 Ghz. I really don't need to overclock it as it is since it is being used as a media center for the time being, but I am learning to do it for fun. 4.0 would be absolutely fantastic for this PC. I should be able to hit 4.0 without going over 1.50v from what I've read.

yah and just so you would know you can hit 1.5V no problem BUT you have to use Water cooling system not any water cooling like the H70 but proper one
you can go up to 1.6V with water then it will get too dangerous after that
and yah as you said you dont need more than 1.45V to get to 4.0GHz ^^

I am using a Corsair H-50 but I have absolutely no desire to go into the upper voltages like that. I am hoping to find some settings that will get me to 4.0 below 1.5V. I am not going to extreme or expecting to set any records. I just know this CPU can handle the 4.0. No need to upgrade my cooling as this is a 6TB media center (and other random jobs). I am incredibly happy with the H-50 for what it is. Definitely not a cooler to be used for breaking records but for a cheap, EASY (to install/maintain) and pretty damn quiet cooling solution...it's fantastic!
