Thanks
I left my ram settings like timings the ones reccomended 9-9-9-24-2t, had to up the volts from 1.5 to 1.6, cause im using 8 gigs but id prolly do the same for 4, and the ram at that config i listed runs at 1524.But you can lower the divider to your speed, mine is 1600 and runs at 1524 at 4.0, so you should be at 1333 but with 4.0 settings ittl be 1257. I dont know squat about changing timings ive tried all i ever get was bsod so i gave up

And np glad to help

The problem is obviously the RAM.
OCZ Gold 1333 is THE WORST RAM on earth, for three reasons: the stock inexcusable 1.65V generic settings, the poor overclockability, and the highest DOA rate of all OCZ RAM.
Generic 1333 9-9-9 memory holds you back enough, but by the looks of it this kit is severely holding you back.

You can try lowering the memory multiplier so that you are running below 1333Mhz (and eventually up to 1333Mhz again), but it'll just hold you back later on.
And don't even bother trying to lower those timings, most likely you won't get anywhere close to low timings with this kit.

What I highly recommend you do is take that RAM kit out, find the nearest trash receptacle to your computer and THROW IT IN--ahem, I mean, return it to the store and get something else.

Build is too old to return the ram. I'll consider getting something else, but as this is a media center I don't really NEED to spend the cash. If I don't upgrade it (definitely not now) I'll be sure to do more research on the RAM I get for the next build. Pretty harsh words against that RAM, which I always appreciate since it's honest and you explain your point of view. Hopefully I can still hit 4.0 with this (apparently terrible) RAM. If not then I will have to settle at least for now since funds are a major concern.

Rubbish. I know people that run 1.5 on a H70 no problems.

Who says you dont need more than 1.45 to get 4ghz?
dude you have a crosshair and a 1090T its gonna be a lot different!

A 16x multi doesnt work on 1055t stop misleading noobs

OP change that RAM you have a good mobo you'll be fine after that good luck!

I can't get new ram right now. Hopefully this ram will not stop me from hitting 4.0. If it does I'll have to see where this can take me since I can't afford squat right now.

You have a good cpu cooler basically you have everything you need for overclocking except RAM.

I would wait until you get it because its holding you back.

But I can't afford any. I know it's limiting me but hopefully I can still pull a good number with this terrible ram.

anyways if you look at OCZ they said your RAM runs @ 1.65V np so try 1.7V if i boots run prime95 if it stable for 15min try lower the RAM voltage slowly
and use MemTest to test if your RAM is stable, if you get errors when running MemTest try higher voltage
i think you RAM will go 1.9V with np at all

Edite:-
Also try lower you RAM timmings you will get a little boost
try 7-7-7-20@ 1.75V and try go lower timmings from there like 7-7-7-19
His RAM is obviously worse than yours

So his RAM rated at 1.65V and you tell him will go to 1.9V with no problem at all?

If you want your components to survive dont overvolt and if you do, make it slightly, not 1.9V on your RAM, ridiculous advice to someone stuck at 3Ghz.

OP have you tried loosening timings majorly?

Have you tried running at 1066? instead of 1333?
