dude you have a crosshair and a 1090T its gonna be a lot different!

A 16x multi doesnt work on 1055t stop misleading noobs

OP change that RAM you have a good mobo you'll be fine after that good luck!
dude i'm not missleading i did say IF YOU DONT HAVE BALCK EDITION then you cant rise it more than x14 i did say that and i aslo said get your CPU bus to 286
how about you read the whole thing before judge
AND I DIDNT say that 1.5V is a problem after that you should just worry thats it

If you want your components to survive dont overvolt and if you do, make it slightly, not 1.9V on your RAM, ridiculous advice to someone stuck at 3Ghz.
ok yes 1.9V might be a little high but he can run at 1.9V there will be np
i have been running at 2.0V for the passt 3 months and till now i dont have any porblem

Anyway I'm back. Haven't pulled the CMOS in a while so it took me a day of sitting at work thinking to myself "why the hell is everything being weird and certificates not working?" before I realized the system clock was to blame.

I am about to install win 7 on the C: of my PC now. Time for a nice clean format of that drive.

Would anyone be interested in using AIM to help me try some settings today? I will even sign up for MSN if you prefer. I had some weird results trying some things suggested here. Currently stuck at 3.36 and I'm not sure how stable it really is. I don't wanna do benchtests on such a low number anyway. Just trying to find a way to the magic 4.0.

I'm almost there. Getting to the end of the starting windows animation and before the welcome screen goes away and then blue screen.

Anyone up to help tweak the settings and have it over 4.0? It was booting 3.86 fine so I know I am close.

I've hit a rut. My pc is running there but I am sure nothing is close to optimal. My lack of ram knowledge is surely not good. Anyone wanna suggest ways to get the rest of the way and improve this in any way?

If you want to do this right, you should overclock each part separately. Use Intel Burn Test to test stability quickly.

First figure out how much the FSB can do. Lower the CPU, NB, HT, and RAM multipliers so that they don't go above stock rating after raising the FSB. You may have to figure out how your BIOS does this (my Biostar's BIOS is really weird). Up the FSB slowly until the system becomes unstable. Then you know the FSB limit. I would then lower it with a little extra for stability.

Then do the the CPU by increasing its multiplier. Then the NB. Keep HT near stock. Keep RAM near stock too - you will probably have to run it below its rated speed. If you do want to overclock the RAM, maybe use memtest to test stability instead of IBT.
