Phenom II X6 1055T Stuck at 3.01GHZ Noob Needs Help Please - Page 6

If you don't want to mess with the RAM timings, just lower its speed multiplier so that it doesn't go over its 1333 rating when overclocking the FSB. Keep the other stuff at auto.

Had to drop it to 3.89.

I am too much of a noob to follow this apparently. What's throwing me off is the multiple terms that can refer to the same thing. I wish mobo's used standard vocabulary. Or I need a translator that speaks my mobo's language.

People are providing exact values to try and I must be confusing something. I am so close but it feels so far.

'yah i know 1055T doesnt come in Black Edition LOL
when i told him "rise the multiplyer to x16" i didnt know what cpu he had
LOL
but then i did tell him to rise the CPU bus'

If you are giving OC advice it would be nice to know what chip the OP has,

Sorry if you took as personal attacks it's just you were confusing the OP and could have aided in the destruction of their RAM with dangerous advice,

Okay back to helping the OP, When you say you hit a rut what do you mean,
That 3.9 is looking okay,
whats your northbridge frequency?,
how long did you test for?
I'm guessing your temps are still low.

Xenthos you coming in and saying 'smells like troll' is posting just to get a reaction/create discord in the thread which in truth is trolling in itself.

I was stating facts to help the OP I was just slightly harsh, which i apologize for. You had zero input except for your troll message so go back to your cave!

I did an Acronis backup (not doing stability testing until I hit 4.0) and it bluescreened at 3.92 I lowered the FSB now to get the current setup.

Let me post all relevant info in a minute. I appreciate you guys sticking around to help me reach my goal!

My temps have stayed low this whole time. Never been over 29 C on core temp.

The OCZ Gold is definitely not Micron D9 or Samsung HCF0. Don't make too many assumptions on ICs. I doubt they could take 1.9-2V and survive. The heatspreaders aren't very good anyway.

These are my current settings. I did a good amount of trial and error for a few hours and could definitely do with good results.

1100 7-7-7 at the default 1.5V seems pretty fair. You're using a rather hectic amount of CPU-NB voltage for a mere 224Mhz NB overclock though (not that it's dangerous, but you could probably do 2.2Ghz NB with stock CPU-NB voltages!)

So you suggest lowering the CPU NB VID CONTROL setting? I am trying to associate names with the way they are labeled in my current bios. I'm more of a learn by doing kinda person and if I can't see it in front of me this is going to confuse me more.

Lowered the CPU NB VID CONTROL to .025 above stock. Seems to be fine so far watching a 720p video. Looks good

Any more ways to improve this? Ideally breaking that 4.0 number that is so important to me for no particular reason.

Yep thats the one. for your CPU NB it should be down at 1.2-1.25 with your current NB frequency being only a bit over stock.

(Or stock CPU NB Voltage)
