Need a Board for a 955

Thread Starter
Ok so I got my hands on a 955 black Brand new for 75 & im in need of a Board. I would like Crossfire but its really NOT needed

I was looking for Cheaper Mobos for Crossfire since im on a Budget & I found a board but not sure if Quality. The board shows it will do Tri Fire. Id like to stay under 120 for a board that can do a good OC & at least Crossfire. The reason I chose this board is because what you get for the Price I notice most other boards only give you x1 PCIE slot for the same price where this board gives you 3

I think you should give this board some serious consideration: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-193-_-Product

It is a very good board for the price. It has the 890FX chipset, it will do crossfire, and it will OC like crazy. I believe this board has the current world record for OCing a 955be.

I was thinking about this alittle. Is there any way I can snag a Single GPU Micro ATX Board that can OC at a lower Cost. I really dont need crossfire or SLI. I need to get this down to at least 520.

BIOSTAR TA890FXE

Sapphire 6950 2GB

May I ask what is wrong with Asrock boards such as this one. Are they junk boards?

You didn't spend much on the 955... so why should you spend much on a board
No seriously, there actually are good boards out there for lower prices, and the best one happens to be the ASUS M4A79XTD EVO. $89, $74 AR = excellent overclocking/8+2 VRMs, 8x-8x Crossfire, and other great features. Do et, you know you want to now that you've seen it

Due to 4+1 power phase I usually don't recommend pairing an mATX board with a 125W x4 955. If you absolutely want mATX, best choice would be Biostar's TA890GXE which will allow for moderate overclocks despite 4+1 phase.

Unless you're on a really really really good SSD, the answer is no.

where'd you get the 955 for $75 brand new?

the 890FXE is one of the best BANG for buck mobo out right now. it can be bought for $120 and has an amazing list of accomplishments. it's a no nonsense board. no usb 3.0, cannot do quad crossfire even though it 4 slots, no integrated graphics. just all raw overclocking business
