I'll take our current wide variety of gaming choices over having 20% of what we have now, w/every game having a bit higher level of gfx quality. All day, any day.
Hate to disagree with you there partially... Yes some games that normally wouldnt be on the PC is ported to it....Also the funds from console game sales do help the gaming company for PC games...
However... This IDIOTIC piracy issue ...Are PC games pirated??... YES!!!... Are console games also pirated??.. HELL YES!!!
Used to work with a coworker that modded 360 drives to bypass the media check for burned copies of games...IMO most console owners are usually people that are lazy in regards finding a way to pirate a game...but if one can provide a service that will do it for them( like my former co worker) then they will pirate games...Heck the recent PS3 OS hack is another example...
I would prefer that devs make games that have more substance to it, rather than see how many versions they can churn out of Dead Rising before the gamer stops buying it with the "been there, done that" attitude...(note: not picking on dead rising per say, just between Resident evil, left 4 dead1 +2, etc...Pretty soon that zombie shooting well WILL run dry)
