There's a lot of elitist snobs on this site that claim consoles are the devil. Me? I just game. I find a good game, and play it, regardless of where it is. Hence why I removed "PC Gamer" from my title, I didn't want to be associated with the half-wits around here.
lol. gaming would have died 20 years ago?????????????? thats hilarious. Gaming is only alive today because of PC gaming.

Uh, sorry, no. The NES and SNES were the only truly successful platforms up until the Playstation. Without those three, gaming would really be dead.

are you kidding me. PC gaming has been alive and kicking before DOS. nes and all the other consoles had nothing on pc gaming even back then.

I'm not sure if you are simply trying to to troll, or are really that ignorant of early pc gaming.

Hell you talk about the snes, and by that time we had quake.

wolfenstein is a game fron 1981. Give me a frigging break man.

Yes, it does. As you probably noticed, most games coming out for the PC now are just console ports (save for a few).

If people didn't buy these games, they would have no effect on the PC market. But yes, consumers in the console market are dragging down PC games.

this just shows how late you came into the game. Ever heard of Team Fortress? Diablo? boy, you are just asking for it.

Thing about the NES is, it gave life to a otherwise dead industry in 1983. W/o the NES who know's what would have happened. Thing with PC's are, they just aren't for everybody for alot of reasons. PC and Consoles need one other. And those of you who say that consoles haven't changed games, look at the motion controls we have now. Rather you like them or not. PC's interface is still mostly the same. KB and Mouse. Strong sales in the home console market mean new fantastic games for PC when/if the Dev's/Publishers see it as profitable. Im a gamer. PC and Console. No point in fanning for either side. Neither is the Devil of the industry and neither is really god. New PC tech integrates into new consoles which equals a strong market for gaming. Consoles are well optimized, and simple. The ave joe likes that. Some of you guys forget, PC is the niche market here. Regardless of how many of us gather here on OCN we are still a minority and for good reason. You also have to consider before moving to the 8th gen what has really changed since the 7th started? What's changed in the PC world? Higher res's and AA but nothing drastic really. Not IMO. Also this recession set everyone back. M$ has finally stabilized the Xbox and $ony has finally started turning some Profit. I do think new hardware is on the horizon just abit off for these reasons. Also let us not forget, Dev cost for these titles today are Uber high and Pirating on the PC side is through the roof. They can combat this much easier on the consoles than they can the PC with Firmwares and blocking access to the online Networks etc. Those of you who compare console piracy with PC piracy are just kidding yourselves. Sorry but true. Stop blaming consoles for the state of PC which IMO isn't doing all that terrible atm. You guys just seem to have a insatiable hunger for the next big thing in graphics. I think the next gen is going to focus on 3D and controls more than graphics. I also don't expect super expensive HW the next round either. My 2 Cents

My apologies for the long post and no paragraphs. I got carried away in the quick post box lol
