GPU and RAM

Thread Starter
Hello, I was thinking of building a new system around i5-2500k, however as online stores don't sell anyomore motherboards with p67 chipsets, I'm now going to build system around AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE, however I'm not sure of which GPU and RAM to chose, considering that I will be overclocking the system. Maybe you could give me an advice, here is my build :

Motherboard- ASUS Crosshair IV Formula
CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 955 Be
GPU- GeForce GTX 560 Ti
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB

I realy like the new GTX 560 Ti, the price/performance is great. The budget for the GPU, CPU, RAM and motherboard should not exceede 700$.

P.S. I will be using one GPU

Thank you.

Make sure you already have a psu, of course. And I would NOT recommend that motherboard. If you're buying a 560Ti you won't be able to SLI since its an AMD system. Either buy an AMD graphics card, or buy a cheaper board with one slot.

Looks great. Will be a good gaming machine. If you are into OCing then remember to chose a memory with following qualities.
dont get a single 4gb stick. buy 2x2gb set. GSkill is a great brand, just be sure to buy the ram with cas latency 7. 1600MHz 2x2gb memory set with cas value 7. This will ensure good OC support. As for GPU, get the best your budget permits.
If GTX580 is possible, then get that. If not, get the GTX560.
If you are not going to use SLI, then theres bo need to get an ATI equivalent. Doesnt matter how small a role physx plays in a game, its still a feature worth having. Ofcourse this is my personal opinion. If you prefer 6850 or 6950, by all means pick it up. They are good cards too.

And yeah, to save some money you can pick up the other asus board with 890fx chip (forgot name), you might even get m4a88tdv-evo/usb3. great performance for the price you will pay.
