My 2500k beats the crap out of a 1090t for gaming and costs about the same.

Every chip has its niche, current amd chips are only for people on a budget who value cores > speed of said cores. I used to be a big amd fan... Until I used this 2500k.

That's because multi GPU scaling and gaming performance of a 1090T is about the same as my 3 years old Q9550. I really want to upgrade my CPU and motherboard and I really want to see what Bulldozer has to offer, but I'm afraid I won't be able to contain myself. April is still pretty far away, I'm almost certain I'll go SB.

i7 2600k
P8P67WS Revolution
4GB of DDR3 RAM

:d

Plus AMD motherboards rarely support SLI (I don't want to do an SLI hack).

Good luck spending $3k on Ivy Bridge setup!

Your shopping amount may varies

The early Ivy bridge is going to replace the current LGA 1155 sandy bridge processors, it not going to cost $1000

LGA 2011 is supposed to use high-end sandy bridge processors, not ivy bridge

EDIT: Quad channel ram cost $400 ? Are you kidding ?
Does this cost $400 ?

Maybe they'll sell their extreme edition for less and call them "K" series, instead of Extreme editions, then they'll sell for roughly $499-$599.

Why is this not in the rumors section?

VR-Zone has no source and no information. A quick google search shows that they are also the only site with this "information".

Just a single image that says "Siler" and "Thorsby". Nothing about 2011, quad channel memory, or $1000 CPUs. They are just hashing together a bunch of rumours.

That's what I was thinking. I'm not surprised the Flagship boards of the flagship socket are going to launch with the flagship cpu's... It almost makes sense.

I bet you the more reasonably priced i7 2900's will be here by xmas.

Also, hasn't this been pretty well known? EDIT: That Sandy Bridge LGA2011 was coming in H2 2011?

^ This.

like what they do with Video cards. launch high end ones then slowly go down.

Only Nvidia does that nowadays. AMD released the 6800s first then worked their way up.
