$2000 Complete System Build

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I wanted to get some opinions on my wishlist I have put together. I am going to be buying this system in a couple of weeks after taxes come back. I plan on overclocking this computer as far as it will go. I don't think I will be doing any GPU overclocking, just CPU. I also saw that the X6 1090T has come down to $199.99 in price, but I am right at the limit of my $2000 budget. If anyone has any alternative component suggestions to help squeeze in that processor then please feel free to let me know because I want this thing to last me for at least 3 years. Thanks for anyone who takes a look.

If you're spending that much money, you should get Intel, as it is superior.

your spending $2,000 on a phenom x4 system?
you should get rid of the WD 500gb drives and get 2 samsung 1tb f3 drives. also whats up with the 1200w psu?? how about a nice 650w or something.... $2000 for an amd build seems crazy to me.

I calculated the power requirements on neweggs site and it said for 2 6950's and everything else I would need at least 1000W power supply. I also wanted ATi certified power supply and that power supply is basically the only one that meets the requirements. Any suggestions that would work?

1000w?? you could do quadfire with 1000w and dont worry about ati certified its just a gimmick.

So you think that a 650W power supply would be enough to power the system with full overclock?
