I'm currently selling my GTS 250/9800GTX+ cards on ebay in order to pay for an upgrade to either a 560 TI or an unlocked 6950 (haven't decided yet).

Right now, I'm gaming on an HP w2007 monitor at 1680x1050. I definitely want to upgrade to at least 1080p to take full advantage of the new card. However, I've gotten so used to the glossy screen that I really don't want a matte finish monitor -- I mostly game in the dark anyway, so I don't have a problem with glare, and I find that the glossy screen enhances the perceived color vibrancy and contrast significantly.

I'm looking at two HP models (as my old HP has served me well, and is still one of the better monitors I've seen in its price range):

- 2509m with CCFL backlight, 3ms refresh rate, 300 nits (slightly older model but still available at BB for $249.99).
- 2511x with LED backlight, 5ms refresh rate, 250 nits ($299 at BB).

I have two questions:

1. Can anyone recommend any other monitors to consider that are under $350, at least 23", and have a glossy screen?

2. It looks like the 2509m is the superior unit -- the LED backlit model has a slower refresh rate and is not as bright as the CCFL backlit model. But I've also read that the xx09 models have some pretty bad problems with screen tearing, though this is mostly mitigated by always using VSYNC. Any 2509 or 2511x owners care to give their opinion? Or non-owners who have some knowledge of the models? Which would you get? (I don't really care about width or power consumption, only image quality).

Any and all advice is definitely welcome! Thanks in advance, Overclock.net-ers!
